How can we improve WooCommerce?

Where, after the client has completed a transaction, an upsell appears on the thank you page so they can add to their order without retyping in their info...1AutomationWiz and 1ShoppingCart offer it, so surely Woo can!

    Hey all,

If you are looking into different options for offering personalized product recommendations on the order-received page, check out the official WooCommerce Product Recommendations extension:

The extension does not provide any sort of "one-click" functionality that bypasses checkout for product recommendations selected on the order-received page, but this is an excellent idea that could be rolled into the extension in the future.

@Anonymous, thanks for a great question!

I will reply to it here, so that everyone could see:

Q: I do have one question regarding the functionality. With this plugin, is it possible to include a discount on the after checkout products? It would be very nice if that was incorporated as well, so my upsells could be done at a discount to further encourage the sale.

A: Absolutely! with this tool (One Click Upsells for WooCommerce) you can easily discount the after checkout product and set a special upsell price for it. Without changing product's main or sale price! Details here:

100% agree samcart is an awesome tool. if you want to stay on woocommerce our one click upsells and handsome checkout products will give you the features you're looking for.

  • Stephanie Stiavetti commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

@Dan I've looked at SamCart and it looks great. Debating how much of a pain it would be to leave Woo -- these missing features are becoming more and more painful.

  • Dan Baritchi commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

@Stephanie FYI after asking over and over for this type of functionality from Woo, we moved to SamCart last fall. Migration from all our custom Woo code was a huge pain since we're a subscription business, but it was a great step forward from a usability standpoint.

  • Dan Baritchi commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

@Stephanie right? one reason so many of us have moved on and transitioned away from WooCommerce unfortunately...

@anonymous I spoke with our contact at the U.S. PayPal office and apparently each country has different requirements. For example, anyone in the U.S., using our One Click Upsell product will be fast tracked when activating reference transactions. None of the requirements you listed apply in the U.S., which I know doesn't help you right now.

You and I have corresponded over email and as you know we're working with our partner at the U.S. PayPal office to see if we can do anything to help you.

Just wanted to post here since the response you received is country specific. We have many non-U.S. customers in countries where these requirements don't exist. Again - doesn't solve your problem and we're working hard to help you via our PayPal partner. Thanks!

I have woocurve plugin but before anyone gets it you must mention that you cant use it for paypal which is a huge drawback. For paypal you require to contact paypal and get them to activate reference transactions function. However, when I contacted them, I got this response:

    Dear customer,
Thank you for contacting PayPal regarding your interest in applying for the Reference Transactions feature.
Just a bit of information on this feature. If merchants need to recharge a credit card and they are not storing the credit card information in their local database, they can perform a reference transaction.
A reference transaction takes the existing credit card information that is on file and reuses it to generate a new transaction.
Reference transactions are read-only operations, and only the new transaction is populated with data and acted upon. In the same way, no link is maintained between the reference transaction and the new transaction once this is completed.
When a transaction is completed, and if the merchant is eligible for this, the transaction details page will display a new link to create a new transaction.
Reference Transactions is not enabled automatically for all merchants, but it needs to be approved and enabled on a one-by-one basis. Before we can approve a merchant to use this feature, the merchant will need to meet the following requirements:
    1. Have been successfully underwritten.
    2. Be a first class merchant processing at least $30K per month
    3. Have a solid rationale as to why they’re requesting reference transaction applied to his business model and payment flow. The merchant needs to demonstrate a legitimate business need or requirement for Reference Transaction functionality.
In view of the foregoing, you are you in a position to provide the following to PayPal?
    - Total online Volume
    - PayPal Share of your online volume
    - Average transaction price
    - Business rationale as to why you are applying for reference transactions
    - A link to the sign up flow for services on your website (by customers)
    - A link to the T&Cs where customers can review the terms regarding reference transactions and the cancellation policy surrounding them
    - P&L accounts for the last two years
    - Balance sheets for the last two years.
May I also request that you complete the attached form? Kindly download and complete it and thereafter upload the completed form to your PayPal Account by taking the following steps:
I am assuming, of course, that the document in question is now scanned and saved to your computer. If so, please proceed to take the following steps in order to successfully upload same document(s) directly to your PayPal Account.
    1. Open a web browser and log into your PayPal Account; now open another browser window tab and type into its address window.
    2. Hit the “Enter” key on your computer’s keyboard
    3. This should take you straight to the document upload page of your PayPal Account (but if you are required to log into your PayPal again, please do).
    5. On this page, click ‘Browse’ to find the scanned document on your computer.
    6. Once you have found the file, fill in the required fields:
    -Give the file a title
-Select a type of evidence from the drop down menu
    Enter a description
    7. Now click ‘Attach this file’
    Kindly note the following:
    * The name given should include no more than 3 numbers.
    * You can provide a description of the file you are sending, up to 100 characters.
    * Information that you upload appears in the Attachments box. You can preview the file or delete it from there.
    * You can attach multiple files, up to a total file size of 5000kb.
    7. When all files are uploaded click ‘Send files to PayPal’
    8. Respond to this email to let us know you have submitted the documents
    • Kindly endeavour to convert to gif or jpeg or PDF as Word and other formatted documents sometimes appear blank when opened for review.
It is my pleasure to assist you. Thank you for choosing PayPal.
    Yours sincerely,
    Business Support Department

@BogdanFix Yes, Smart Offers and Buy Now are two plugins but they work really well together.
    Also they not only allow you to create one click upsells but various other offers, like;
    1. Downsells
    2. Cross-sells
    3. Upsells
    4. Buy One Get One Offers
    5. Back-end Offers
    6. One-time Offers

Coming to the payment gateway, Buy Now for now supports two gateways i.e Stripe and The other gateways are on the road-map.

Also, both these plugins are sold in a bundle called 'The Marketing Bundle' which includes - Smart Offer + Buy Now + 7 additional marketing resource

Here's the link to the bundle:

The price of this bundle is $177 which is again lower than that of WooCurve ($197)

Yes, Smart Offers allows you to include a discount on products that are upselled after the checkout process. I have tried it on my store and it works perfectly.

    Hope this helps!

I just signed up for the demo, and it looks exactly like what I need. I am very pleased as to how easy it seems to flow and how smooth it feels. I do have one question regarding the functionality. With this plugin, is it possible to include a discount on the after checkout products?

It would be very nice if that was incorporated as well, so my upsells could be done at a discount to further encourage the sale.

    Thank you

@Dev, unfortunately Smart Offers & Buy Now (2 plugins!) support only Stripe... While 1 Click Upsells plugin (all in 1) supports many popular gateways like PayPal, Braintree, Authorize.Net, Stripe, Payflow Pro and others.

Also the 1 Click Upsells plugin is simple and intuitive, you can start getting new upsell orders in a couple of hours, while other plugins are too difficult to setup and understand.

Hey Dan ... yea the plugins add up quick. :-)

I think i would go far beyond the topic of this forum thread (people do not like hijacked threads) if I list all the things I do. In summary ... its more than just a couple plugins.

It's more about the overall "flow" and systems that work together but also about usability and a couple other things.

E.g I have created an in-house plug-in which gives the standard – woo checkout a boost – far beyond what most people can accomplish by using the standard woo as is. The result is staggering numbers I had to check twice, because I couldn't believe them myself.

Anyhow ... describing it here would be a bit to much - if you are seriously interested just ping me at Skype (webboty).

Sending you a couple screen-shots (or even screen-share) is much quicker and will also help to make much more sense than me trying to explain it with words.

But yes - a smart "One Click Upsell" process (OCU) is also part of it.

Even that far that we can put "one click up-sell links" inside ... E-Mails ... or any other page within the word press environment ... independent from the standard woo checkout. This is also something most plugins ignore ... they are not flexible enough.

  • Dan Baritchi commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

Hey Tony! That's awesome to hear.

We use maybe a dozen WooCommerce extensions already, some direct from Woo, some from 3rd parties.

Either is fine... But that's what I'm referring to.

What WooCommerce is really really missing is things like 1-click upsell, adding a "recommended" product on checkout (i.e. "want to add this to your order"), and a way to split test sales funnels, with product / checkout page templates, etc.

What plugins / add-ons are you using to increase conversions, i.e. the 1-click upsells and any other related ones?
