Just a note, there is a (later) duplicate of this here: http://ideas.woocommerce.com/forums/133476-woocommerce/suggestions/13234329-allow-the-customer-to-skip-next-delivery-while-kee

I will keep an eye on the votes for both ideas as a total for this idea/feature request.

Hi folks, if you're thinking about voting for this idea, please vote on http://ideas.woocommerce.com/forums/133476-woocommerce/suggestions/13234329-allow-the-customer-to-skip-next-delivery-while-kee instead

That one was added earlier and while we try to keep track of total votes across duplicates, it does help having all the votes on the one idea. :)

Hi Nathan, WooCommerce now has a Failed Order notification email which takes care of this.

However, Subscriptions v2.1 is also adding a new dunning feature to notify store owners and customers of failed payments. You can view more details about this feature here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/subscriptions/failed-payment-retry/

This feature is due for release with Subscriptions v2.1 in early November. If you would like to get early access to the beta version, please contact support: https://woocommerce.com/my-account/create-a-ticket/

    Hi Paul and Anonymous,

    > What's the state of play with this Brent?

I looked into this quite seriously back in 2014. At the time, the Spreedly API wasn't quite as unified as hoped. It looks like support the 100+ gateways it supports would be only slightly better than writing a few dozen different extensions for different payment gateways. That's why I didn't proceed with it. I know at least one other WooCommerce extension development company seriously investigated it also and came to a similar conclusion.

I still think it would be a great feature for store owners as Spreedly's service offers freedom unmatched by other gateways. I won't be building an extension for it however.

    Brent

    +3

I've proposed the idea on the extension developer Trello board and am awaiting feedback. Once I know the WT guys are keen, I'll be building it out. :)

This has also been requested here: http://ideas.woothemes.com/forums/133476-woocommerce/suggestions/5972742-subscriptions-enhanced-coupon-support-for-active

If you are coming to this idea now, it's better to vote on that other idea rather than splitting the votes between two different ones. :)

This isn't currently on the roadmap, but I've certainly felt the need for it a bunch of times when working with Subscriptions, so it's definitely on the radar.

The good news is, with the changes to the way subscriptions are stored coming in Subscriptions 2.0, something like this will be much easier to achieve because we'll be able to sort by the post meta of a subscription, rather than having to find sort by the post meta on a subscription's original order.

I added an FAQ item with instructions and sample code for how to achieve this: http://docs.woothemes.com/document/subscriptions/faq/#section-61

This is possible with the Follow Up Emails extension.

There is some information in this related Subscriptions FAQ item: http://docs.woothemes.com/document/subscriptions/faq/#section-50

And in the Follow Up Emails documentation: http://docs.woothemes.com/document/automated-follow-up-emails/#section-7

This has been possible since Subscriptions version 1.1, released in July 2012.

Details available in the docs here: http://docs.woothemes.com/document/store-manager-guide/#payment-schedule

Hi Doug, I really like this idea but probably won't add it to Subscriptions until I see it get more traction.

I empathise with the pain PayPal can cause though, so for now, I've created a little plugin which you can use to disable PayPal for Subscription purchases, while still offering it as an option for one off purchases. Grab it form here: https://gist.github.com/thenbrent/6641526

    Hi Brandon,

As of version 1.2.4, the WooCommerce Subscriptions extension includes a feature to manually modify a subscription: http://wcdocs.woothemes.com/user-guide/extensions/subscriptions/add-or-modify-a-subscription/#section-3

You can use this to change the recurring amount charged for a subscription (it won't pro-rate the amount, it will simply be increased to the value you set for the next charge).

It can also be used to reduce the recurring amount charged, for referrals discounts.

Stripe will be adding support for this feature very, very soon.

For the "One time fees", you could already add a sign-up fee to a subscription product: http://wcdocs.woothemes.com/user-guide/extensions/subscriptions/store-manager-guide/#section-1

This is perfectly suited to charging an entry fee.
