        I cobbled together some plugin code that takes the info from the Order Item and displays it in a Metabox on the Booking page. Never figured out how to actually edit it from there, but it's nice to be able to see it.

          I don’t have enough votes left to give one to this, but I really like this idea. I would definitely like to be able to have some of my employees see (some subset of) the booking calendar without having to give them any Dashboard-level capabilities.

              Ok, one other thing that would be Really Great: an option to use a separate calendar for unconfirmed bookings. Right now we have some crazy hack developed so that more than one person can request the same single-use time slot. Then when one of these competing bookings gets confirmed, the others get automatically canceled. But right now, we have no way of seeing pending/unconfirmed events in a calendar view. It'd be nice to be able to check a date for other pending bookings any time a new request comes in.

              I would love this too, either one gCal per resource or per category, or per product. However it’s implemented, I could try and adjust my workflow to it.

              I actually tried to do this myself via a plugin and it was really difficult. Part of that is that I’m no professional, and I had a hard time figuring out how to use separate calendars with the same OAuth tokens. But even then, I could see how it would be very complicated to make this sort of thing work with any after-the-fact changes to bookings. Especially if the user changes the product in the back-end. I think part of the reason they go with one calendar is that it’d be really hard to ensure your changes propagate to Google if you make any changes other than a simple reschedule/cancel.

I thought about buying that extension just to see what happened and get a refund if we couldn’t bend it into shape. But I also worried that if I could get it to work in some unsupported way, the official integration might come along later and make it break. But if you can describe what you did in a comment on the other Idea, that’d be awesome.

                  I am out of votes, but yes, a million times yes. Alternatively you could do separate calendars per Resource or Category. Hopefully you could just authenticate once per Google Apps account so I don’t have to jump through the API key hoops for every thing I might want to create a calendar, but it’s worth doing that if google make it necessary.

                  The other option is to publish per-item (resource) iCal feeds that we can import into our Google account or other calendaring app.

                          There are a few versions of this request, but I’m voting for this (old) one because I also want the quote option to be on a per-item basis.

                          I also think submitting a quote request should create an order with some kind of pending status, so that when I provide a quote through the back end, the order gets a price, and the customer gets an opportunity to log in and pay it.

                          My use case here is with the Bookings extension for catering, btw, so if it could integrate with the planned deposit functionality, that’d be perfect. From the customer end, the workflow would go Request Booking → Receive Quote → Accept Quote → Pay Deposit → Booking Confirmed → Event Happens → Pay Balance
