For selling lengths product or time, we would love to be able to sell fractional/partial quantities (.25, .5, .75).
For selling products with dimensions, the WooCommerce Measurement Price Calculator extension ( https://www.woothemes.com/products/measurement-price-calculator/ ) is available.
For selling blocks of time, the WooCommerce Bookings extension ( http://woothemes.com/products/woocommerce-bookings/ ) is available.

This works great for us so far!
The problem is that you can't bill for 1.5 of a product. If you have a job that is by the hour and you don't know how long it will take ahead of time none of the plugins or features work. For example, I have a product called services and a customer hired me to do something that took 14.75 hours. The only sensible way to bill them with full quantities is 1 at whatever my hourly rate is multiplied by 14.75. Looks pretty silly on an invoice.
I also am designing a fabric website and I did get the quantity to increment by .25, but when it goes to the shopping cart, the quantity rounds to a whole number. Any help for me?

1) There is an answer though not perfect. What I have done is create products and pricing based on those fractional quantities. For example something costs $10. I list the product as $2.50 and note the product quantity as .25%. Think in terms of units rather than quantity. Obviously you can break this down into $1 meaning .10% increments), etc., etc.
2) Or you can list the same product multiple times with pricing and units coinciding.
Either way works. Just have to get a bit creative and apply some logic.

I have a solution to this - please see my video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijVdRTKYvQc
Lets bump this topic. Any progress? This feature would make a great add-on better!
Has there been any progress on this topic? I have been searching everywhere to find a solution. I don't want the user to be able to input anything they want (like 1.625), but in increments of .5 (I also am trying to get a fabric online store going.
I read through this post: https://github.com/woothemes/woocommerce/issues/1113
The first post actually does give the ability for the customer/user to input their own amount (trying to figure out how to limit that to the .5 increment option).
The second option, I just kept getting errors no matter what I tried to implement, so I didn't find it very helpful.
This is much needed! ANybody have any input to how this might be accomplished?
I really need this! I'm currently creating an online store that sells fabric and they buy it in yards. They need to be able to order in .25 yard increments. So, for example, they need to be able to order 1.5 yards. Right now, they can only order 1 yard or 2 yards.
I only have two options. I could update the core to allow the quantity to be a float. This is really bad because I won't be able to upgrade to newer versions. The other option is to use another eCommerce solution. Zen Cart allows this. It's not near as intuitive as WooCommerce, but it has the one feature my store relies on.
