Limit Available on Backorder quantities
It would be really great to add an option to limit Backorders to a certain quantity.
Many sellers have limited stock at hand and can produce/resupply a certain amount of new stock quickly. There it would be essential to have an option to allow backorder, but to limit the maximum allowed backorders so the production/resupply capacity is not overwhelmed

I need this! As a REALLY small boutique with very limited money for product, I allow backorders but the supplier is wholesale and only sells 2 of each size per item at a time. If I get a lot of backorders for one size I will have a ton of the other sizes laying around. I need to limit them to 2 so that I can sell off whole packs (or almost) before going into a whole new pack

Yes, this would be great as we have incoming containers with product and would be great to set a pre-order limit for hot items we have in transit

This would be a nice to have. Have the same issue..we cannot keep all the stock in our warehouse because of limited space and finance..our most suitable option would to limit backorders somehow so our capacity is not overloaded...or use dropshipping, which our current supplier does not support
