This is a great idea, since this is a very common problem for shopping carts that manage a lot of products going out of stock because any given reason. Instead of putting the product out of stock and give a bad user experience this will help to maintain a low bounce rate.

If a visitor came from a search engine to an indexed product, it would be nice to be able to 302 redirect him to a relevant page.
