Enable the content layout options for Slide and Gallery slides
It would be great if you could have the 'slide' content positioned on the left, right, bottom of the slider (like the post slides do). Instead of having to hard code the layout into the WYIWYG editor
We are exploring adding similar functionality to optionally display the captions of images in the “attached images” slideshow type.
Regarding the “slides” slideshow type, this isn’t the slideshow type’s intention. The intention of the “slides” slideshow type is for the WYSIWYG editor to be a blank canvas, if you will, for each of the slides. The “Featured Image”, in this case, is used purely for the “thumbnails” pagination, at this stage.
We are exploring other avenues for where this image can be put to use as well. :)

What is the status of this? Slide type slideshows still can't have text overlay. Why not?

I too am surprised that the "Slides" version of this plugin has been crippled compared to how it operates as part of the Canvas theme. My clients need to go to a specific location to edit their slides, and have control over the headline, text, and background image for each slide. How does this work LESS effectively than the theme slider? The only reason I bought it was to be able to use the Canvas-type slider in multiple locations.
This in a must have..., especially as you sell it as a feature on the site (and was the reason I, for one, purchased it). It ruins an otherwise great plugin.
You say "Content Layouts: Slide overlays and layouts give you complete control how you display your content." There is no complete control - and there seems to be no way to add an overlay at all except in the very odd instance you want to make a slider out of posts...

Perhaps you could consider a new slide type that replicates the post type sliders without having to use actual posts? The reason I don't want to use posts to create the desired visual effect is that they have appear in my site maps and archives.
Thanks for listening!
Would vote for this, but the voting mechanism won't accept my password. Makes so much sense to pair captions with images in sliders; not everything is a about posts -- sometimes a slider is within a post for a specific purpose -- other than promoting posts.
I agree, very suprised that its not already an option, considering that's the way it seems to be advertised on the WooSlider page. Many users will be completely lost if they have to hard code it into the WYSIWYG editor. Kinda defeats the purpose of calling it a 'plugin' if coding is required after buying it!
