Sensei LMS
Ideas and suggestions for features / extensions you’d like to see for Sensei LMS.
-
Course prerequisite
Ability to set a course as requiring the completion (and minimum total score/grade) of one or more other courses (or at least x of y category/categories) before registering/starting
14 votesCourse pre-requisites currently are in place, and work in series (ie: course 2 requires completion of course 1, course 3 requires completion of course 2, etc).

Let users mark a course as complete without taking a quiz
For some courses a quiz is not appropriate. It would be great to allow a lesson-specific 'mark as complete' button, similar to that available for entire courses.
49 votesFrom v1.6, if you don’t add any quiz questions to a lesson, then the lesson will automatically show the ‘complete lesson’ button.
-
add images to both questions and answers
Think about making this awailable to your 4 year old :-) with only text as an option it's hopeless.
This idea http://ideas.woothemes.com/forums/191508-sensei/suggestions/3583747-i-d-like-to-see-a-way-to-include-an-image-in-the-q only focus on question images, but I would want to see images in both question and answers.
95 votesFrom v1.5, media can be uploaded within any question http://www.woothemes.com/2014/03/sensei-1-5/

Have a better user dashboard!
I'd love to see a more robust account management area similar to buddypress.
13 votesThere is now a free BuddyPress integration for Sensei, which allows the BuddyPress user profile to be used instead of Sensei’s.
-
Gamification Plugin
The use of Levels, Badges and community "props" would be great. Would like to have the ability to create custom "actions" that qualify for badges and levels. Could even be used with Sensei where they only pass a class once they reach the metrics/actions of that particular course.
228 votesAchievement badges can now be awarded using the BadgeOS Sensei extension – http://www.woothemes.com/products/sensei-badgeos/
Read more about it in the blog announcement at http://www.woothemes.com/2013/09/empowered-and-educated-with-sensei/
As usual, if you have any trouble using the extension, please submit a support ticket via http://woothemes.zendesk.com/requests/new
Thanks for all your feedback!

Be able to change author for a lesson
There is no way to change author once the lesson is published. If admin sets up the lessons and want a teacher to be able to change only his OWN lessons there is no way of handling it, We use a plugin called Adminimize to set rights. Normall wordpress pages or posta has a field where author can be changed,
13 votesCourse and lesson authors can now be changed in the same way as posts.

Journal type assessment
Students can answer with short answers, not multiple choice and teacher can provide feedback in a tiny box under each question in 140 characters or something like that. Maybe add emoticons to the feedback!
36 votesSensei 1.3.0 introduces new question types, such as single line and mutli-line input.
Admins can also now leave feedback for students by using the manual grading feature.
-
Option to remove automatically added menu items.
It automatically adds login/logout links and the course/lessons links to the menu. I would like to turn this off.
7 votesThere is a setting within the Sensei settings screen to turn these menu items off.

Sensei should have a teacher level account (so that we can administer classes to schools)
I would like to use Sensei on my site to supplement school classes it would be very beneficial if we could have a teacher account that could view the results of students (members) that are affiliated with the teacher (who is not the site owner/creator).
145 votesThe teacher role is now available in Sensei v1.6, and any user with that role will be able to access the Sensei grading, analysis and (new) learner management menus. – http://www.woothemes.com/2014/06/take-learning-next-level-sensei-1-6/
See the docs for this feature here – http://docs.woothemes.com/document/sensei-roles-capabilities/

My Courses auto updates with newly purchased courses
When a client purchases off of the list of courses they are currently forced to go back to the Course page to activate the class. Only then does it show in My Courses. It would be less confusing if the My Courses page showed classes that a user has purchased.
35 votesThis is fixed since v1.4.8
If you have any issues with it, please be sure to let us know by submitting a new support ticket at http://woothemes.zendesk.com/requests/new

Gift a course to somebody
I'd like to allow users to be able to purchase a course but send it to somebody else to take. This is useful when a company has a corporate account but wants to have different individuals within the company take specific classes.
14 votesThis can be done using WooCommerce and a product coupon for the product you’ve lined to your course. :)
-
Allow the teacher to check student progress and grades
Allow the teachers to check the progress of certain students so they can encourage them to complete courses that may have been abandoned, or failed.
101 votesThis has been completed with the new “Analysis” features in Sensei version 1.2.0.

Randomize Quiz Advance
A test bank of questions. The test bank should have categories. Questions assigned to a quiz randomly and equally from each category
263 votesFull question bank functionality is now available in Sensei 1.6 – http://www.woothemes.com/2014/06/take-learning-next-level-sensei-1-6/
See the documentation for this feature here – http://docs.woothemes.com/document/question-bank/

Integration with WooCommerce Subscriptions module?
Can Sensei be integrated with the WooCommerce Subscriptions and Groups modules?
It would be great to be able to sell annual subscription memberships to the lessons/courses.
Is anyone doing this?
John
11 votesAttach a WooCommerce Subscriptions product to a course and that should work just fine. :)

Question Categories & Feedback
Maybe even discussions, but definitely question types and feedback
3 votesThis idea isn’t very specific, but question categories and answer feedback are available in Sensei 1.6 – http://www.woothemes.com/2014/06/take-learning-next-level-sensei-1-6/

More Question Types
Hi, think there should be more Question Types Example:
Drag and drop into text
(A drag and drop question type where missing words have to be dragged into gaps in a paragraph of text.)Drag and drop onto image
Gapfill Question
Matrix question
etc...
see on moodle.org plugins directory - question types!
thanks a lot228 votesSensei 1.3.0 includes a multitude of new question types.

I'd like to see a way to include an image in the quiz question.
For example, a map or graph which is associated with the question. I think this has many applications across subject areas and as many internet-based courses are going to use video and images to teach, there is a lot of room and need for identifying and analyzing visuals and images to demonstrate understanding.
65 votesThis is available in v1.5 – http://www.woothemes.com/2014/03/sensei-1-5/

Create links to go to next lesson within Quiz
The current Quiz feature looks great, but it's really odd to make the user go BACK to the lesson to then get to the next lesson after they pass.
Would be great if the user could automatically move to the next lesson after they PASS.
37 votesTesting this in the current version v1.4.8, the lesson pagination is displayed on the single quiz page, so after you complete the quiz, there is a link to the next lesson below the quiz.
-
Allow admin to manually score/pass users
This feature would allow an admin/manager to manually move a user to the next lesson in a course. This would then allow manual promotion steps.
For example, we would like a step where a user manually submits an essay (another feature already posted that we were going to use Gravity forms to deal with). ---- then once passed, the admin would move them to a "complete" or certificate type lesson.
24 votesSensei version 1.3.0 adds a manual grading feature for grading the quizzes taken by students.
