3 points:
1. We need to have automated certificates
2. If we don't have automated certificates, then we need to receive email confirmation a test has been completed so that we can send one out ourselves?
3. The "Mark course as complete" button needs to be disabled otherwise users can just skip to the end and get a Certificate? -

Hi, I also need this functionality in sensei. Other way would be to extract information of users who completed courses from the database and merge a pdf with these data. But that would be hard coding work and surely not a secure way..

We added a print screen button on the course page, but we need an actual certificate type view that the customer can print with their name inserted.

I spent money on Sensei many months back, hoping to have course completion certificates, like LearnDash, a legitimate competitor to Sensei (which I also purchased). It would not make any sense for me to purchase a Sensei extension for printing certificates. This should be a free extension for license owners of Sensei.

When WP- courseware is offering this bundled, I would expect basic functionality to be there for Sensei too without having to pay extra.

Ed, I highly doubt this will be a free add-on. While I understand that the development of such a feature takes a lot of time, generally Woo Themes charge above-reasonable prices for extensions (compared to Code Canyon). One example is the "Product Bundles" extension which has very limited functionality, but costs $49. There's also an extension that generates PDF invoices and costs $79, so I definitely do not expect this certificate add-on to cost less than $79.

Hi Matty, thanks for the response and taking action on this. I hope (fingers crossed) the extension will be a free add-on for people who invested in Sensei since a certificate of completion is pretty customary IMHO with any kind of testing platform, one would think. However, if you guys must charge a reasonable fee, I hope the features are very rich and there is proper documentation/support to justify another added cost.

Hi Ed,
I'd like to clarify that quote, briefly.
Certificates will be an extension on top of Sensei, and not included directly within Sensei 1.4.0.
We are working on the functionality though... stay tuned! :)
Thanks and regards,

Good news everybody. I reached out to support on the status of this update and received the following reply:
"Certificates will be included within v1.4.0 of the plugin which will be released later this month and is currently in it's testing stage at the moment."
CAN'T WAIT!

If you provide an option for a unique certification number on the certificate, please allow the option through short code to verify or validate if the certificate is still valid on the front end. Guests will be able to verify that a certificate is in fact valid. Dashboard should have option to set expiration dates (i.e. ___ months or ___ weeks) for certificates, whereas if an expired certificate is checked, it will show as "expired" or "valid" or "custom".

We've developed a plugin since Sensei doesn't support this feature (yet). If anyone needs something like this urgently, you can find me online or contact me at stuart{}waqastudios.com

This is critical for me too. I like Sensei because I feel it has more support than a competing product, but that product already has pdf certificates. I'll be making my decision in the next week or so and would like the timeline for this feature.
I actually had to code in pdf generation to another quiz plugin I'm using on one of my sites. Luckily, that plugin outputted an html certificate so I just had to glue that to a PHP pdf library.

Can someone please provide an answer on when this feature is expected to be released.
Is it weeks/months or years away, from our clients perpsective its imparative that the system we're quoting for can output a certificate at the end of a course.

A certificate of completion is critical. I agree with other commenters that customization of the fields on the certificate is a must have.
Generation of PDF is also a must. The student/customer must be able to mail a certificate to the state bar showing they completed the course.

The lack of a certificate is also a deal killer for our organization (as well as no support for launching, embedding or tracking TIN CAN or SCORM courses). I agree with everyone else, must be a PDF with dynamic fields that pulls data from the course and the user. Then in the account or profile for each user they would have a repository of certs and completions.
Really hope you guys can get this going in the next 1-2 months!
