Randomize Quiz Advance
A test bank of questions. The test bank should have categories. Questions assigned to a quiz randomly and equally from each category

Full question bank functionality is now available in Sensei 1.6 – http://www.woothemes.com/2014/06/take-learning-next-level-sensei-1-6/
See the documentation for this feature here – http://docs.woothemes.com/document/question-bank/

How about the feature you stated above with the ability to categorize and pull in random selections of questions from any category, but let the student be able to create this quiz. I.E. The student needs work on category A, E, G and F, they can go to a practice quiz which pulls in random questions from the categories which they select in the quantity that they select. In this case they would select a quiz which is composed of questions from category A, E, G and F with maybe 10 questions from each.

Our use-case:
- Question categories
- Ability to build a quiz with random questions from each categories .i.e. Ability to select 10 random questions from category 1, 3 random questions from category 2, etc.
- Ability to schedule the quiz
- Ability to set how many times a student can take the quiz
- Quiz timer

I would like this too!
Before you can move on from one lesson to the other we use a series of questions (between 10 and 15). It would be great if we can keep on expanding / updating these so that eventually you'll end up with 50 questions or something of which 10 or 15 are chosen randomly. And when you fail the quiz you are served a new set of questions again.

This idea is similar/same as:

Admin make a note. If possible combine them together.

This is an important feature. I would like it to work as follows:
1. Set up a question pool. let's call it QBANK.
2. in QBANK, setup categories. let's call these QBUCKETS.
3. Assign a weight to each bucket, making a total of 100%. Say, there are three QBUCKETS, and the weights are 50% for bucket A, 25% for bucket B, and 25% for bucket C.
4. Add questions to each the QBANk, each question belonging to one QBUCKET.
5. Define a Quiz. Say, 20 questions from QBANK.
6. When the quiz is displayed to user, he receives 10 questions from bucket A(50%), 5 questions from bucket B, and 5 questions from Bucket C.Alternatively, the bucket weights can also be allowed to be set at the quiz level. So, 50:25:25 is default. But when a user is defining a quiz, he can set it again, say 40% from A, 30% from B and 30% from C.
This will be a robust test bank/quiz management program.
This enhancement can be in core or as an extention but is much needed.

I am developing a website for an online certification company that provide state certifications. Part of the testing requirement by the states is exactly this feature. I need a pool of questions to pull from randomly for each quiz attempt.

I completely agree with this idea. I'm trying to build a medical education website and would like to provide tests/quizzes made up from a bank/pool of predefined questions. I'd like to have a bank of say 250 questions and randomly select 20 to present for a test. What would be even cooler would be to be able to track which questions have been seen by a user before so as not to present the same ones again.

I agree. This would be very helpful. To get an idea you guys should look at http://www.classmarker.com . They specialize in providing quizzes only. If you guys can implement some of their features Sensei would be really a heavy weight in the market. I would suggest to start with creating a question test bank from where a quiz can pull questions from.
Next within the question test bank have categories for questions just how you created categories for courses.
Now when we create a quiz give options of choosing random questions from the test bank. Let the user decide how many questions they from each category they created. And Done !
Can't wait for this feature to be added. You guys are super awesome.

A test bank of questions from which random questions will be assigned to a quiz is already now available but be able to categorize the questions in the test bank e.g. Chapter 1, will contain 10 questions, Chapter 2, will contain 20 questions, etc. Now when we build a quiz, I would like to have RANDOM questions, of course, but EQUALLY chosen from each chapter. You don't want to have 8/10 random questions coming from Chapter 1 rather 2 random questions from chapter 1, another 3 random questions from chapter 2 and so on.
